C’era una volta (there was a time)….. is a newly restored (2009), tastefully furnished self-catering accommodation meant for couples or families who wish to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay surrounded by nature and history while discovering Southeastern Sicily. It is located in the suggestive and picturesque “Cava di San Bartolomeo”, facing the rock-settlement of Chiafura on the way from Ragusa, Modica, Noto and Siracusa and 5-10 minutes by car to the sea.

It is well located to visit the Sicilian late-baroque architecture of Scicli, Modica and Ragusa Ibla, part of UNESCO world heritage, to enjoy holidays with children, to discover the interesting archaeological sites of Chiafura, Ispica or Kamarina, to visit the sets of the fiction “il Commissario Montalbano" and of many other films, to make suggestive naturalistic excursions  through caves, along wild paths and to enjoy the several cafes and restaurants tasting the local traditional cookery.
